INDIAN Criticizes Bollywood Star Detention in UNITED STATE

Khan was on his way to speak at Yale University, in New Haven, Connecticut, Thursday when immigration authorities questioned him for nearly two hours at White Plains Airport in New York state.

The actor arrived at the airport from India in a private plane. He was released after getting immigration clearance.

Indian officials say External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna has asked India's Ambassador to Washington Nirumpama Rao to take up the matter with the highest officials in the United States.

In 2009, Khan was detained for two hours at Newark Airport in the eastern U.S. state of New Jersey.

Indian Foreign Ministry officials said Friday that the "repeated" targeting of Khan is not coincidental and that a "mechanical apology" is not enough.

The Bollywood actor joked about the incident while speaking to Yale University students Thursday.

He said "Yes it always happens, it's nice. Whenever I start feeling arrogant about myself, I always take a trip to America." Khan added, "the immigration guys kick the stars out of stardom."

Sunday Preity Zinta laid to rest speculation

A lot has gone wrong for the Mohali-based franchise in the last year. Following the controversy between the BCCI and Lalit

Modi, Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals were expelled from the league over financial irregularities. The owners moved

court and got a stay on the injunction, whereby they were allowed to take part in the auction and play by providing a

security of $18 million. But Kings XI Punjab still owes players about Rs28 crore for Season four and in a High Court petition

against the BCCI, has given an undertaking that it will pay as soon as the BCCI clears its dues of Rs22 crore from Season

three.

It’s been tedious and heart-wrenching. The dialogue with BCCI continues. At the auction, the economics changed and we started

out at a disadvantage since we had to pay double, she sighs. We couldn’t bid for a dozen extra players, but we got the ones

we wanted. For us it’s not so much about buying players as building a team. We have young talent and despite some unforeseen

injuries, we’re hoping they come together under Gilly (captain Adam Gilchrist).

Pointing out that in the past, teams strong on paper have been out-played by those without stars, as she reasons that T20 is

about great leadership and synergy. Gilly is a terrific team player and I have my hopes pinned on him. This is a crucial year

for us, admits Preity.

Her former captain, Yuvraj Singh, has just returned home after successfully battling cancer. She says, Yuvi is a fighter and

I hope to see him return to the field soon.

Will we see her on the field too? She admits she won’t be there for all the games now that she’s acting and producing a film,

Ishkq In Paris. I didn’t expect my film to clash with the IPL, but we have a big schedule in India in about 10 days. There

are a couple of other surprises in store, she says. After three-and-a-half years of saying I don’t do shows, I went on stage

on Sunday. There’s lots happening, I’m back to doing everything.

John Abraham to join Sajid Nadiadwala's Housefull 2 crew later in London

The Housefull team left for London last week but without John Abraham. He will join the Housefull 2 gang a week later.

Apparently, Sajid Nadiadwala had earlier planned to hire a private jet to take the whole Housefull 2 crew to England from Mumbai. But now with various members opting for scattered travel, Sajid has no options but to cancel the jet plans.

Sajid Nadiadwala who is in the middle of implementing this daredevilish co-ordinating stunt hardly has time to pause to talk about his problem. "Kya Karen? These are all busy stars. We can't have them over in London and then have them sitting idle waiting for actors with whom they are to do combination shots. And losing precious shooting dates in London means losing out on permission to shoot in places like Leicester Square where getting permission again is impossible. It's a very tricky situation. And it's the biggest challenge I've faced in my career as a producer."

Getting the star's dates synchronized is an ordeal for Nadiadwala. "We are trying to accommodate the actors in different groups in the shooting schedule so that no one has to sit idle. Let's see how we do it."
